5minbreathing

Stand in a space, with enough room to reach your hands out
Legs should be hip distance apart, with soft knees

Breathe in through your mouth, expanding the belly and chest
Place hands on your stomach

Imagine a balloon inside, inflating and deflating
You will feel the rise of your hands and then the deflate

Breathing in and out through the mouth, it is the largest opening
allowing the most oxygen the most life the most energy to enter your body

Now that we have the breath
Release your hands and we will add movement

We are always tense and shoulders all always raised,
so lets exaggerate this

Breath in and put shoulders up and on the exhale you are going to release

Breathing in, shoulders up and exhale
On the next exhale try doing an “ah”
Breathing in shoulders up, and exhale “ahhh”

On the next inhale through your mouth
Tilt your neck to the left and on the exhale come back to center

Now to the right, inhale in and back to center exhaling

One more time on the left- inhale in – really stretching your neck, exhale
And on the right, inhale in, coming back to center- exhaling

Inhale in, arms come up above your head, raising up slowly, opening up your torso,
On the exhale bringing the arms down

Bring your arms up, as you inhale, slowly- go at your own pace feeling oxygen moving into your lungs
And exhale bring arms down

If you would like to Close your eyes – connecting with your breath
Inhale in, Bring your arms up and exhale

*Remember we are breathing in through the mouth and out through the mouth

Breathing in, raising your arms slowly and exhaling, release arms down

Notice if any thoughts come up and watch them, let them go.
Stay present to your breath, connected to what you’re doing.
Connecting with any sensations you might be feeling

Feeling your feet on the ground as the breath enters through the top and makes its all way down your body

When done- you can keep your arms by your side or you can place a hand on your heart and/or belly-
thanking yourself for this wonderful experience.

If you feel more calm, less stressed and more connected to your body and your breath
And you would like to see if breath work is for you
